#JeSuisHijabi at Robertson College Edmonton

This past Monday, our Edmonton campus and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association Edmonton hosted a very special outreach event called #JeSuisHijabi, a campaign encouraging women outside of the faith to try on the hijab.

The campaign, launched by Muslim women across Canada, aims to open dialogue with other Canadians and provide an opportunity to share what the hijab symbolizes and why Muslim women wear the head covering.

Robertson College student, Danielle Brown was one of the women who tried on a hijab at the event. "Living in Canada, I feel like we are all part of everyone's culture," says Brown. She appreciated the opportunity to try on the hijab and to help promote cultural acceptance.

We were very honored to have been a part of this meaningful event and want to thank Robertson instructor, Khalida Khawaja for her role in organizing the campaign's outreach events in Edmonton.
