|Robertson College Massage Therapy Students with their Mentor, Marianela Lopez|
Students Melanie La, Michelle Liwanag, Lauren Premak, Ashley Vandemosselaer, and Lauren Toews submitted research on "The Effects of Myofascial Techniques on Pain and Glenohumeral Range of Motion in Post-Mastectomy Patients". The research was just one of three across Canada that received honourable mention.
Special thanks to Marianela Lopez, Mentor for the Research and Literacy Course for her continued support and guidance of the students. The research process is essential to Massage Therapy training because it challenges students to apply their academic understanding of the education they received to real world application. It also provides and invaluable opportunity to prepare a high calibre research study.
The Robertson College Massage Therapy program provides research and evidence-informed education that goes beyond the standards in the key areas of anatomy, physiology, therapeutic techniques, and research. If you are interested in pursuing a career in Massage Therapy, our next intake is on February 16, 2016.
