Get Recharged for Fall

You’ve had a great summer, and now you’re gearing up for a busy Fall season. It’s rarely easy to keep up with life’s demands and remain stress-free at the same time, so it’s a great idea to stay proactive and keep your batteries charged for all the tasks and commitments that tend to crop up in the second half of the year. We’ve compiled a list of tips to help you recharge and stay motivated so you’re ready for whatever the Fall season sends your way.

1. Get Motivated

Staying motivated is essential to completing all those seasonal chores around the house. Try different, unique approaches to get those tedious and dread-worthy tasks out of the way in no time. Listen to a podcast or audio book while you rake the yard, or make a playlist of old music you used to love while you clear out the garage. Get creative, and you may be rewarded with an empty to-do list.

2. Get Inspired

Keeping yourself inspired is a great way to promote creativity and mental health. Sometimes we get stuck in a mental rut and we don't even know it, so it's a good idea every now and then to take stock of our overall mental state, and to infuse a little extra positivity where we need it most. Keep it simple - buy a new book on a topic that excites you, or peruse Pinterest for posts that get your creativity churning.

3. Reconnect

Everyone knows how important it is to eat right and exercise, but many people underestimate the effects that our connections to the people and nature around us have on our overall health. Give yourself an instant boost by setting up a coffee date with friends or family you haven’t seen in a while, or take a walk outdoors with a furry companion.

4. Practice Self-Care

Many of us spend a lot of our time caring for others, but its easy to forget that we need care too. Take a whole day out for yourself and schedule some fun and relaxing activities that make you feel recharged. If you can’t do that, ask those close to you if they can take some tasks of your plate so that you can take a few moments for a well-deserved breather.

5. Get Organized

Clutter can really affect our mental state, even if we don’t notice it. Never mind all that wasted time looking for things that aren’t where they should be. Do yourself a huge favour while simultaneously supporting your local second-hand shop, and donate some items you can live without. It’s amazing how energized you’ll feel when you aren’t using so much of your mental resources trying to block out clutter, and how much time you’ll save not having to look for things.

It’s so much easier to deal with life’s little (or big) challenges if you face it head-on feeling strong and energized instead of drained.
