The Winner of the Make A Change Contest Is...

Earlier this summer, we ran our Make A Change contest on social media in the hopes that we could make a difference in the lives of the people in our community by offering free tuition to two deserving individuals from Edmonton and Calgary. The response was tremendous, and entries quickly started rolling in. Reading the entries, we were humbled by the courage, tenacity, and perseverance of the entrants, and their willingness to not only rise above the challenges they face in their own lives, but also to lift up their families and communities along with them. It was truly an honor to have so many people share their stories and their struggles with us.

So, Calgary and Edmonton, we salute you Thank you for reminding us why we do what we do here at Robertson College.

Without further adieu, we will announce your 2016 Make A Change Contest winners:
Ashlyn Rudy and Dominic Cloutier!

Ashlyn loves her job at a local physio clinic, but she is ready to pursue her dream of working in the healthcare field. She used the savings she had set aside for her education to help her parents overcome some tough medical problems which meant that she had to put off her career goals. But Ashlyn is undeterred in her commitment to making a difference by working in health care and caring for others in her community.

Dominic has been on disability for the past few years and is ready to make a change to his life. He wanted to return to school but did not have the funding to make it happen. Not only does he want to further his education to better his life, he also wants to make a difference in his community as a Community Support Worker, giving back to those in the community who did not let him slip through the cracks.

Congratulations to both of you for winning a full scholarship to Robertson College. We are thrilled to have you on board, and to follow and support you in this new chapter in your lives as you pursue your new careers!
